Brokers Like Me Can and Do Offer You More. Why Should You Settle for Less?

Did you know that there is a significant difference in the level of expertise, knowledge, skills and level of professionalism offered by persons designated as a "broker", "agent", and "Realtor®"? It is important to know that difference when you pick someone to market your home for sale or to negotiate you home purchase.

What is that difference you ask?  In ascending order of expertise and professionalism, the differences are defined below.


An Agent is...

a person who is employed and supervised as a salesperson by a Broker. The agent must take an exam to be licensed by the California Department of Real Estate

A Realtor®  is ...

a person who has passed the same licensing exam as the agent above, who has also become a member of the National Association of Realtors®.  

I am a licensed California broker and a member of the California Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors,  and the Palos Verdes  Association of Realtors.  I am also a member of the California State Bar Association, and local civic and social groups such as the Palos Verdes Beach and Athletic Club, the Palos Verdes Tennis Club, the Palos Verdes Peninsula Parent and Teacher Association, among other groups.  I maintain these professional and social ties to help better serve my clients.

  A Real Estate Broker is ....

a person who has passed a state licensing exam to sell real estate and who ALSO has fulfilled considerable additional training, experience requirements, and initial and continued testing in order to secure and keep the more demanding real estate Broker’s license.

I am not only a Realtor®  but also a licensed broker, attorney and notary. Hence, I have greater expertise and professional standing than a mere real estate agent.


All three types of real estate professionals are licensed representatives who may assist the buyer or seller with advice, information about current market conditions, and help to negotiate the sale.  However, there is often a large gap of knowledge and experience between agents, agents who join a national association, and Real Estate Brokers.

For the Best Representation You Will Want to Use the Services of a Broker.

As outlined above,  there is a significant difference between a licensed real estate agent and a licensed real estate broker. Why have I worked so hard to obtain and renew my brokers license for many years?The reason is, the more qualified I am, the better I can do in representing my clients  than other agents and Realtors  who do not aim  as high in their professional advancements.  I offer my clients more. Together we can make a terrific team!
